Alan Richman’s Tips for Ordering Wine in a Restaurant: Alan Richman: GQ
I like his list (though I think more people need help understanding varietals and vintages when they’re ordering), and #5 is definitely a favorite. I give foodies a hard time, but man oh man is there nothing worse than a pretentious wine fan. Never have so many who knew so little made others feel less cultured. [via @ztaylor]
